To Train Beyond Trophy/Achievement Guide - Like A Dragon Gaiden

By
Jarrod Garripoli

One trophy and achievement in Like A Dragon Gaiden that might be a little confusing involves bonding completely with your Joryu Clan members. There are three of these trophies/achievements, with the last one requiring you to bond with ten members. From a quick glance, you might think that this just needs you to max their bond meter, but it’s not quite that easy. You actually need to fill that bond meter, as well as reach max level with ten members.

Training your fellow fighters will be an important part of finishing the Coliseum.

How to Unlock the To Train Beyond Trophy/Achievement

Taking the knowledge from above, you will be required to get a total of ten members to the max level and max bond level. The max level for characters is 20 and the max bond level is only 3. However, neither will take a short amount of time, but in order to do some of the last few Hell Team Rumbles, it’s a good idea to max your characters out for those. Considering the max number of members for the majority of Hell Team Rumbles is ten, then you can probably concentrate on those. The only issue that arises is not all characters are created equally, so focusing on characters that you replace is not a good idea.

If you wish to know who the best characters are, then check out the Best Coliseum Fighters page. Once you have a team picked out, it’s time to start leveling them. For experience, one of the best options is to simply do specific Hell Team Rumbles. When you first start out, this can be a bit rough, but as you level up your characters some, then you can start getting to the better options. For example, the first Gold match under Hell Team Rumble is great, as the battle is pretty simple and you only have to deal with normal enemies. As they get stronger, you can graduate to the fourth Platinum match, which might be the best one.

With an S Rank, your characters will earn around 5,700 experience from that match. You might think that purchasing the items from the one vendor at the Fighters’ Lounge would be better, but the best item costs ¥1,800,000 and only gets around a level each time once you’re past 15 (not to mention you’re only getting a single character like that). So, it’s best to just stick to the matches and keep fighting through them. Should a team member get KO’ed in the Platinum match, just go down to the Gold one to make them better again.

For the bond level, you will likely get a good amount from just doing the matches, as your characters should receive 100 Bond experience from each win. However, there might be another, and better, way to do this. On the far side of the Fighters’ Lounge, there’s an NPC that sells champagne. This champagne will help your characters recover from the debuff from being KO’ed, but it will also boost their bond. You can only use this once per match, so you will have to do a fight in between each one. Once you have enough money, you can just purchase all of the drinks there to get a major boost (around 200+) to all Joryu Clan members’ bonds (not just the active team).
