Tarantula Guard Spider
Description
An upgraded model of the Guard Spider family, this massive machine boasts nearly 250,000 HP and a variety of nasty attacks. It can attack with its front claws - one leg will deal around 7,000 damage and two will inflict 10,000 damage (with 255 VIT). The standard Disarm Net attack is telegraphed by the machine jumping and spinning in the air, and is easy to dodge, but if you falter it’ll inflict Stop. Its guns are largely for show, as its Shinra Type-100 Cannon attack will tickle you five time to trivial damage. Finally, its Anti-MP Field creates and AoE burst that hits multiple times and drains MP. It can’t do much damage if you keep your distance, and most of its attacks are easy enough to dodge, making it a foe that looks more imposing than it really is. It can drop (rare) a Shinra Beta+, or you can steal (common and rare) a Shinra Beta+. You’ll encounter the Tarantula in Missions 1-5-3 and 7-5-3.
