This quest is acquired from Gyda Myrdotten, who can be found in a cave in the north east of Stone-Bear hold. She will inform you of you special rites which are to be performed for Caldan Enversen. However, his son was unable to secure the offering, and that task now falls to you.
Head south west and then up a short ramp to find Finn, Caldan’s son, in a small house. Speak with him to learn more of the situation. When you’re ready, head outside and speak with the Master of the Hunt, who will inform you that three Fade-Touched creatures will make a sufficient offering. Three locations where the creatures can be found will then be marked on your map:
- Swamp Kuldsdotten - Fade-Touched Gurgut
- Varsdotten River - Fade-Touched Giant spider
- Basin Floor Camp - Fade-Touched Lurker
Each creature has a massive amount of health and potentially devastating attacks. The Fade-Touched Gurgut is a relatively simple fight with no additional mobs, but you will want to stay away from its frontal Area of Effect attacks.
The Fade-Touched Giant Spider has a few more tricks up its sleeve, including a web root and a poison paralyze, but these can be avoided if you stay far away as a ranged class or try to maintain a flanking position in melee. When the spider is reduced to beyond half health, you will need to defeat numerous smaller spiders as the Giant spider runs away.
The Fade-Touched Lurker is similar to the Gurgut in terms of its arsenal of attacks. The main things to look out for are a powerful frontal Area of Effect attack, and a tail swipe that can kill you with one hit. You will need to keep a close eye on its movements to avoid these. At the beginning of the fight there will be numerous lesser lurkers which should be dealt with first.
Once you’ve killed each Fade-Touched creature, return to Stone-Bear hold. You must now decide whether to offer their pelts to Finn or the Master of the Hunt. Regardless of your choice, the last thing you’ll need to do is speak with Gyda.
