Useful Taz combos in Multiversus

By
Craig Robinson

The Tasmanian Devil is back from cartoon memories and into our video games with his spinning tornado antics. The Multiversus is up in arms with his one-dimensional playstyle, which rings out enemies with his spin-to-win gameplay. While the character is not what it was in closed beta, those who disrespect Taz will get knocked into oblivion. If that is your desired playstyle, here are some useful combos for Taz in Multiversus.

Here are some useful Taz combos to help you in your MultiVersus gameplay.

Useful combos for Taz in Multiversus

Like most bruisers, Taz doesn’t have many moves that directly count as pure combos. The most you can typically get in a pure combo is the three to four back-to-back hits It means that Taz will also need to extend combos using a few ticks up his sleeve to dish out punishment.

Basic combos

  • 3x Side Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR > You hit an enemy with salt and pepper shakers, then do a spin.
  • Dair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > 3x Side combo Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR - Spike into your basic 3-piece side combo.
  • Special Xbox-ButtonY > spit upwards > Up Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Up - You can potentially charge the up attack and get a stronger knockback on it if they are on higher HP percentages.
  • 2X Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR > Up Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Up > Special Uair Xbox-ButtonYXbox-Dpad-Up - this move does a basic hitstun combo that launches enemies into the air. If his Dogpile is off cooldown, those caught in the dogpile will get a few more hits on them and launch them to the side. Depending on the enemy HP, the throwback will be short, allowing your lands another side attack combo around the 50 HP mark. If it is on cooldown, then it is a two hit stun Uair attack.
  • Dair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > Nair Xbox-ButtonX > Sair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR - This move you can do on an enemy if you’re already gliding through the air and have the chance to do them from the ground, or you can use it via the triple jump perk. It is not a pure combo; rather, the Sair is an unofficial part of the combo chain.

One general rule of thumb is that Taz’s Dair attack can be a solid combo starter. This can transition into any combo to create a combo extension.

Moreso, a general rule of thumb against enemies rushing towards you is that your down special attack can trip them up. It will either burn their dodge move or hit them, allowing you to unofficial combo it into a combo of your own. It is also an ideal move for setting up your special spin, as they will bounce back slightly, which allows you to do the windup at peace.

As you can see, there are not that many realistic combos you can perform, rather, you will largely weave in different skills into different moments and try to make a combo from there. There’s a reason why Taz costs 1500 gold rather than a full-priced character.

Kill combos explained

Unlike almost every combo in the game, Taz has one main kill move, which is the tornado. It doesn’t matter if it’s the third hit of the side attack or the special windup. The main aim of Taz is to get that key horizontal knockback out with his tornado. Therefore, anything that can easily set up a hitstun to land a tornado will be the key to victory. Note that Taz’s special tornado has a windup, so any combo with an extended hitstun or short velocity will work well to set up the killing blow.

Moreover, Taz’s special is pretty much the same, regardless of whether they are in the air or on the ground. Your combos should be to set up somewhat an enemy regardless of horizontal or aerial and then land that key tornado hit.

Alternatively, Taz’s combos should try to do as much damage as possible and get to that desired 15/15 tasty damage. This turns an enemy into a giant cooked chicken that can move but cannot attack. It means you can then go for a killing blow on an enemy who cannot do anything to interrupt your windup animation for your tornado kill.

This pretty much concludes the Taz combos in Multiversus. If you happen to discover a combo chain you can do with Taz, feel free to let us know in the comments.
