Useful Garnet Combos in Multiversus

By
Craig Robinson

Garnet is a music loving quick bruiser with a mixture of some surprisingly strong ranged knockbacks and two giant mace hands for combos. Those who love horizontal gameplay may find Garnet to be a solid character. But, like all fighters in Multiversus, you need to know some tricks and techniques before you can start really getting good. Here are some solid Garnet combos in Multiversus.

Here is a look at some suggestions for easy Garnet combos and some extended combos.

Garnet Combos in Multiversus

The main thing you need to know about Garnet is that she has a few pure combos as a bruiser. These tend to be small but guaranteed hitstun combos. However, the moves are quite easy to flow into more combos, which is part of the strength of Garnet, since she relies a lot on getting in there, dealing damage and then trying to use her horizontal knockback for kills.

Basic Pure Combos

  • Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR x3 - Basic light attack string with knockback at the end.
  • Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR x2 > Down Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down. Like the three-side attack, you get four hits stuns and do one extra damage at the cost of less knockback.
  • Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR x2 > Up Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Up - Turn the basic attack into an uppercut finisher.
  • Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR x2 > Down attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > Neutral. It’s a pure combo from the first four hits, but the charged attack connects with lower HP enemies. It deals about 20 damage taking into account bonuses.
  • Charged down attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > 3x Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR Side Attack - Hard to land and better on enemies with less than 50HP. You can also make an up attack in case they land overhead. The combo depends on the HP and the size of the charge.

Basic Air-to-ground combos

These are basic combos using your air moves, allowing you to easily walk into your other basic combos, creating a form of extended combo.

  • Dair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > Nair Xbox-ButtonX - Quick two-piece combo that deals a fair amount of damage. Can later set up more horizontal combos.
  • Dair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Down > Up Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Up - Decent spike to air if you can land directly on them. Another decent set-up combo if you plan on doing any follow-up air combos.
  • Nair Xbox-ButtonX> Up Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-Up x2 - Can be used near the ground to get lower HP enemies into the air. Or it can be used to create a juggle on enemies already in the air.
  • Sair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR > Side Attack Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR. Come to land with Sair and then follow it with the three-side attack hits.
  • Sair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR > Side Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR > Side Special. When the special lands, it does more damage and can knock back. Ideal move for an air-to-ground finisher.
  • 2X Sair Xbox-ButtonXXbox-Dpad-LR

Another tip is to foreplan your combos. Garnet’s special down allows her to place a marker on the floor. She can then teleport back to it and hit enemies along the way. These moves tend to drag the enemy hit and then throw them at the end. Therefore, use this move at the end of your combo chains to get one last hit you otherwise wouldn’t. It’s much better to use it on enemies with less HP, as Garnet has a lot of knockback on her kit, which can kill at higher HP percentages.

Also, don’t sleep on Garnet’s special up. The yellow zapping zone it leaves on the floor can launch enemies to the sky and kill them without fail on 80HP. Feel free to place that and try to combo them into it using the side attack > down attack combo to setup a really early and suprising kill.
