Position Overview:

As a Reverse Engineer at Gamer Guides, you will play a pivotal role in extracting valuable data from games to support various aspects of our projects, including creating the foundation framework for game databases, maps, tier list features, etc. We are seeking individuals who are adept at using data extraction tools and are eager to learn and adapt to new games and engines. Collaboration and communication skills are essential as you will work closely with other team members via Slack and other channels.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize extraction tools: Extract data from games efficiently and accurately.
• Develop custom tools: Contribute to the development of custom tools or scripts to facilitate data extraction when necessary.
• Structure data: Convert extracted data into a useful format for the website.
• Collaborate with a team: Work closely with team members to integrate extracted data into various projects and applications.
• Continuous self-improvement: Expand expertise in data extraction techniques and tools, and focus on learning new games and tools/engines quickly.

Skills/Traits:

• Programming & data organization: Strong affinity for programming and data manipulation.
• Personality: Organized, detail-oriented, and results-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to carefully examine large amounts of data to spot patterns and make sense of complex and extremely large data sets.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and succinctly to non-experts.
• Flexibility: Ability to work remotely with a flexible schedule.
• English: First language or Fluent (C1/C2).

Experience:

• Experience Reverse engineering game engines: Unity, Unreal etc.
• Debuggers & disassemblers
• Proficiency with Data extraction tools
• Passion/understanding of Gaming: An enjoyment of working on a video game website and preferably, a strong passion for video games.
