Hood of the Weave vs Birthright

Solid caster helmet for general wizard or other from of mage type build, bar Sorcerer. Make sure to buy this from him before locking him out via the quest to find Thumbro for him.

Hood the Werave is largely better for improving Spell DC and general spellcasting. Charisma on the other hand improves Spell casting Modifiers, so you will likely get more Birthright if you use Charisma for damage improvements, while the Hood of the Weave is better for casters who cant abuse Charisma as their spellcasting modifier, aka Wizards and Blaster Druids, as opposed to Warlocks or Sorcerers.
