• Metal Coats are useful for any Pokémon that make use of Steel-type moves as it will increase the damage those moves do.

• Metal Coat is also needed to evolve Scyther into Scizor. You must Trade a Scyther while it is holding a Metal Coat.

• This is a useful hold item for the Gholdengo Tera Raid build, boosting the power of Steel Beam.
