Spider-Man has had a tough time recently and it shows with his suit. Not wanting the press to take pictures of his chest hairs, Spidey opts to go to the lab to fix up his suit. Head on over to the lab, which is marked on your map of course, but there’s a few other things available before repairing your suit. By the Spectrograph puzzle station is Otto’s Lab Journal #3 audio recording, plus another recording (Otto’s Lab Journal #4) not far from the room you need to go into for the story.
There are also a few more puzzles at each of the two types here, so feel free to do them now if you want. When you’re ready to continue, head to the marker and press the Triangle button on the table to begin repairing your suit. Of course, someone comes by and thinks that Peter is working for Spider-Man, which helps keep his identity a secret still. After waking up, you’re told to check your e-mail, but you can explore the small office for some extra lore. The e-mail from Dr. Octavius has some improvements of his own for Spider-Man’s suit.
This will unlock the Suits tab on your menu, where you can craft new suits for Spider-Man. Remember those tokens you got in the previous mission? Well, they will be used in crafting the new suits. To begin, you will be required to make the Advanced Suit, which needs a Backpack Token and two Crime Tokens, something you have already. The majority of the suits in the game have a special power attached to them, which is equipped automatically upon donning a new suit.
The Advanced Suit’s power is called Battle Focus, regenerating focus for a short time. To activate these powers in combat, you will need to push in both analog sticks at the same time (L3 + R3). After using a suit’s power, it will need time to recharge and you’ll know it’s ready by looking at the icon in the upper right. There are some exceptions, but you will unlock more suits as your level increases. In addition to the suits, there are also Suit Mods, allowing you to augment your offensive and defensive capabilities even further.
Similar to the suits, more modifications are unlocked as your level increases and you will also use tokens you earn from doing side content to purchase them. Right now, you have three suit mods unlocked: Battle Tech, Gel Padding, and Long Range Scanner. You won’t be able to purchase the last one on that list, due to it needing a Landmark Token, something you can’t access yet. However, the other two should be purchaseable, depending on your activity. You can equip up to three suit mods at once.
