Evil Dead: The Game

What is the Balance Bar in Evil Dead The Game

By
Paul McNally

One of the most important mechanics in Evil Dead The Game that never really gets explained, and a lot of people are asking about, is ‘What is the Balance Bar?’

When you are upgrading your character’s skill points plenty of modifiers refer to Balance Bar improvements but information on what that actually is is less than easy to find.

Here we are then - you’re welcome.

What is the Balance Bar?

The Balance Bar highlighted by an oversized red arrow.

You will actually have seen the Balance Bar a million time playing the game but not necessarily realised what it is. Over an enemy’s head when they are attacking you will see two meters, or bars. The red one is the enemy health level, while the white one just below it is their Balance Bar.

How does the Balance Bar work?

The best way to explain it is to have you think of the Balance Bar as a sort of Stun meter. The more damage you cause, not only does the enemy health drop but also the balance Bar decreases too. When an eney’s Balance Bar hits zero, that’s when you can perform your Finisher move on them by hitting the appropriate key when the icon appears on screen.

Some characters have different levels of Balance and some go down quicker than others. It also depends on how much damage your weapon is causing as to how quickly itg drops. Unlike health the balance bar can go up, but generally fights are over so quickly this won’t play a factor.

For most enemies other than bosses it may not even be worth always paying attention to the Balance bar but when it comes to Boss fights it is definitely useful to knowe when you are approaching the time to use your powering Finishing moves as they provide the most amount of damage in a short amount of time.

What Skills modify the Balance Bar?

Stopping Power is a skill that many of the Survivors can gain.

Evervy character in the game can gain skills that directly affect the way the Balance Bar works. Let’s have a look at what those skills are.
