A few tools are given to you during the main quest. You can obtain the rest of the tools–and upgrade all your tools–after completing the Profit Chasing quest and building/upgrading the Tool Shop.
Axe¶
The axe is used to cut down trees in the Great Forest.

Fishing Rod¶
The fishing rod is used to catch fish at specific fishing spots.

Trap¶
Traps are used to capture animals. You can place them at specified trapping spots, then exit the dungeon to see what you get (sometimes you get nothing).
