This page explains how to obtain and upgrade traps in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising.

Traps are used to capture animals. You can place them at specified trapping spots, then exit the dungeon to see what you get (sometimes you get nothing).
To obtain and upgrade traps, you must build/upgrade the Tool Shop, which is possible after completing the Profit Chasing quest (available from Main Quest 7).
After upgrading your traps, you may obtain rarer meat upon leaving a dungeon.
