A shield passed down through the Hyrulean royal family, along with the legend of the hero who wielded it. Its defensive capabilities and durability outshine all other shields.

This can be found in the Hyrule Castle Docks location found on the northwest side of the surface level castle area. You can either reach the docks by paragliding down from the Hyrule Castle sky location, or by sailing across the Hyrule Castle Moat. Once at the docks, proceed across the piers and up the stairs (beating or running away from the Gloom Hands) and then light the brazier atop the stairs. Once the brazier is lit, a chest containing the Hylian Shield will appear from the ground.

Unfortunately, this shield is breakable, however, you can purchase the shield again from Cece’s Private Collection for 3,000 Rupees after completing The Mayoral Election Side Adventure. You can only have up to one Hylian Shield in your inventory at any given time.

You can also repair the shield before it breaks by feeding it to a Rock Octorok, which can be found around Death Mountain in the Eldin Region.
