The Pumpkin King

You start off meeting Jack Skellington who quickly explains Halloween Town’s Heartless problem. Defeat the Heartless and Sora will learn Terror as well as acquire the Key of Beginnings . You can interact with statues and pumpkins to get Moogle Points and HP, just watch out for the fountains that try to spit acid at you.

Make your way to the Room of Beginnings and try to acquire some of the Pumpkinhead cards, they can be an upgrade. When you receive the Key of Guidance make your way to the Room of Guidance. You have to go through two more rooms to get there, but do yourself a favor and gain a level or two as you progress.

Collect the Key of Truth and try to reach level 27 so you learn a new sleight before progressing. Once you clear this world you’ll have a follow up fight so just gain the levels now. If you feel comfortable with how you are playing then you can opt to create a Moment’s Reprieve or something easy along the way, but leveling is always a good idea. Reach the Room of Truth to find Oogie Boogie.

There are plenty of enemies to fight to help you level up. The fountains will take shots you (right) so be wary.

BOSS - Oogie Boogie

Oogie throws what looks like his exploding dice (left). Sora uses the Gimmick Card to completely lower the gate in front of Oogie (right).

This is another simple fight if you have some high number cards. Oogie will toss out dice, so card break the attack and the gate guarding Oogie Boogie will lower 1/3 of the way. Doing this three times means the gate will go all the way down, allowing you to jump up and attack him. If you don’t card break the dice then you’ll have to deal with added enemies, saw blades, or daggers depending on the roll. The good news with the dice is that you can hit them with the high probability of getting a Gimmick Card. The Gimmick Card will lower the gate completely, so use it after you’ve lowered the gate naturally to have two consecutive attacks at Oogie Boogie. He’ll drop Oogie Boogie Enemy Card .

From the Conqueror’s Respite, climb up and save. When you head to the exit hall you’ll be greeted by Larxene, who would like to test Sora.

BOSS - Larxene

Sora stuns Larxene with Strike Raid (left). Larxene gets a little payback when she pulverizes Sora with Mega Volt (right).

The battle with Larxene is one where you must pay attention to her cards. If she stocks up for Mega Volt you’ll want to break it, or counter sleight with a Sonic Blade or Strike Raid for the best damage. The sleight you need to be very careful of is the Teleport Rush because you’ll take a lot of little hits that add up in a hurry. The other attacks are simple enough to dodge if you can’t break them. Dodge Roll when she yells, “Lightning” or “Vanish” to avoid the lightning strike or kunai she throws at you. Sonic Blade is your best attack in this fight because you can strike many times and the speed matches Larxene.

Larxene drops Thunder .

Another Set of Worlds

After defeating Larxene you’ll receive a new set of World Cards . Head up and go to whatever world you want, just remember that the floor layout is based on the floor you go to and not the level.
