It is the hill where in 1142, a memorable battle took place between King Vladislav II and Prince Conrad of Znojmo, supported by rebellious nobility. The king suffered a great loss due to the treachery of his own people.
In the 13th century, an early Gothic church dedicated to the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built on the hill, which has survived almost unchanged to the present day.
Today, at the summit, at an elevation of 471m above sea level, stands a lookout tower with a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
