Shaleback Beasts

Description

The Shaleback is a turtle like creature, except has much taller leg front legs, and slightly taller back legs. Shalebacks are typically neutral creatures, especially the younger and small creatures. However, the Matriarchs and Patriarchs, which typically guard nests are aggressive, but will only attack if a player or other hostile creature goes near the nest. You can often find these creatures around the river banks in the Desert region.

Shalebacks typically have a light attack with their front leg, and then raise their front legs up and slaw them down for a heavy attack. Shalebacks have decent enough armor and HP for early game creatures, but are not too strong. You may occasionally encounter Greater Shalebacks which are taller and stronger verison, often marked as mini bosses via their skull level. These will deal significantly more damage, and have much more HP. In the Unnamed City, you can find demonic versions of Shalebacks, which are stronger versions of these creatures as well.

Upon defeating a Shaleback, you can loot the following resources:

• Bone
• Hide
• Savoury Flesh
• Shalback Head.

Remember to use a Pick to get more bones, hatchet or cleaver for more meat, and a skinning knife for more hide.

Conan Exiles Shaleback Food

If you happen to capture a Shaleback Hatchling and raise it in an Animal Pen, you will have the chance to mature a pet Shaleback. These creatures make very good early game tanks, which you can use to accompany you through the early game Exiled Lands.

If you intend to level them up, and buff them, you will need food. Here is a list of all Shaleback food in Conan Exiles, with bolds for those that grant the best stats and HP/s:

• Aloe Leaves - 7% Strength, 3% Agility, 3% Vitality, 10 HP/s
• Desert Berries - 14% Vitality, 2 HP/s
• Dried Fish - 3% Strength, 3% Vitality, 7% Grit, 8 HP/s
• Exotic Shellfish - 7 Vitality, 7 Grit, 1 HP/s
• Oyster Flesh - 7% Strength, 3% Vitality, 3% Grit, 9 HP/s
• Plant Fiber - 14% Strength, 6 HP/s
• Savory Shellfish - 14% Vitality, 4 HP/s
• Shadespiced Succulent Shellfish - 7% Strength, 7% Vitality, 7 HP/s
• Unappetizing Shellfish - 14% Agility, 3 HP/s
• Vines - 14% Grit, 1 HP/s
