To reach the Hypogean Gaol, a subsection of Yahar’gul Unseen Village that you can access early, you’ll need to get killed by a Kidnapper. The easiest one to find is by exiting the back of the Oedon Chapel in Cathedral Ward and checking the corner of the yard.
Die to a Kidnapper to reach the prison, Hypogean Gaol, in Yahar’gul Unseen Village.
After the cutscene you’ll awake in the prison of Yahar’gul, Unseen Village in an unlocked cell. Equip your torch, open the door to exit the cell, and then hang a right to grab the Thick Coldblood (6) in the next cell.
Take the stairs down to the cellar for a Frenzied Coldblood (7) and then try to talk to the NPC, Sister Adella , but without a Church Set to equip you’ll just have to come back later. You can now head back upstairs, cross the room to a flight of stairs, and head up one floor to another set of stairs down, where two Eye Collectors will be waiting.
Check the basement for a Frenzied Coldblood and NPC, who you will be helping later.
Enemy Info: Eye Collectors are identical to The Witch of Hemwick, but without the binding magic before they grab you by the head and gouge out your eyes if you get too close or get caught off guard.
This area consists of two cells with plain enemies pretending to be dead and a back room occupied by two Kidnappers, which you should ignore for now. Clear out both cells while grabbing the Blood Vial x6 and Quicksilver Bullets x10 and then return to the staircase and walk all the way up to light the Hypogean Gaol lamp, but be careful of the Kidnapper that walks down from this location.
Collect the items in the cells and make sure to kill the enemies pretending to be dead.
Now that you have a spawn point ready, take care of the two Kidnappers in the main hall to grab the Moon Rune sitting on the floor. Head for the exit, making sure that the Eye Collector behind the pillar on the right doesn’t catch you off guard, and then head outside and hang a right.
Follow the pillars along the side of the church to lure the two Rabid Dogs away from a Kidnapper and then kill the Kidnapper. You can now head down the stairs and check the seemingly dead end for a Twin Blood Stone Shards and Frenzied Coldblood (7) before opening the door to the area with the two Eye Collectors.
Defeat the Kidnapper and Rabid Dogs to access the dead end with some items.
Return back outside to kill the Maneater Boar you saw before and then head along the left edge of the church, killing a Wandering Nightmare, to open another shortcut straight to the lamp.
Backtrack to the plaza and take the small set of stairs, turning left to find a Frenzied Coldblood (8) hiding in one of the alcoves. You can now head back to the stairs and continue up another set of stairs, a the left room simply leads to an elevator you can’t activate at this time, and then drop to the ground.
There are four Rabid Dogs you’ll have to carefully deal with, but once they are dead you can rush to the small alcove under the suspended stairs to quickly get behind another Maneater Boar and take him out for the Bolt Paper x5 he guards. You can now make your way to the end of the street, killing the two Rabid Dogs on the right, and then sneak up on the Kidnapper for a charge attack and visceral attack before finishing of the two Rabid Dogs to grab the Tonitrus .
Defeat the Rabid Dogs on the street and then make sure to get the useful Tonitrus.
Backtrack to where the Maneater Boar ascended the stairs and this time take them down to kill two Rabid Dogs guarding the Madman’s Knowledge x3 , but make sure to also ascend the nearby stairs for a Frenzied Coldblood (8) and grab the Yahar’gul Black Set from the carriage driver before you return inside the main church you began in.
Remember the basement room with the two Eye Collectors and two Kidnappers at a table? Well, go ahead and return down the stairs and then defeat or run past the two Kidnapper to enter a tunnel that leads to the boss arena.
