Oof. This is going to be a chore. The Diablos and Black Diablos aren’t the nicest of foes under normal circumstances, but depending on how much hunting you’ve done, you have have had to deal with both at the same time before. They tend to occupy the same areas, after all, which isn’t to say they’re friends. Far from it, if they encounter each other they’ll probably fight, reducing the work ahead of you. Tough love being a Diablos.
That’s not to say that you should try to engage them both, as one can roar while the other charges, and it doesn’t take too many hits from either before you find yourself carted back to the nearest camp. That being the case, try to lure one away from the other, or use Dung Pods to deter the one you’d rather not deal with first. Aside from the possibility of having to fight both monsters at the same time, there’s not too much to this quest. Don’t engage both of them and it’s really more akin to a prolonged battle with a Diablos. Capturing them will shorten the fight considerably, which is always a good idea, but especially since you don’t want to end up fighting both of them in and near their lair. Other than that, the only thing you need to worry about is an interfering Bazelgeuse who will show up after the first target dies. Dung Pods will again prove invaluable for deterring this nasty opportunist.
When you’ve emerged victorious from this ordeal you’ll be rewarded with the Astera Beer ingredient. If that’s not enough of a reward, however, return to the Research Base and talk to the Third Fleet Master, where she’ll reward you with the hunter tool she told you about earlier - the Affinity Booster. This item will, when deployed, produce a red mist that’ll increase the affinity of any hunter who enters it for 60 seconds, making it a fairly decent attack boost for your party.
