Jack of all trades, master of none…

Combat: Hybrid

Weapons: Knives, Swords, Bows, Claws, Lv. 1 white magic, Lv. 1 black magic

The freelancer is the starting class you get before you restore the Wind Crystal. As such, you don’t really have much of a choice whether you use it or not. The freelancer is the classic jack-of-all-trades, master of none job, able to use a wide variety of weapons and some elementary spells. However without further specialization, some of the most powerful weapons in the game are beyond the freelancer’s ability. Once you get jobs from the Wind Crystal, you’ll want to move forward from Freelancer.
