There are a lot of errors in this list. A couple corrections down below:

None of the AKs are based on the AK-12. Fundamentally they have a far different rear sight based at the back end of the dust cover.

AR corrections: * Kastov 762 = AK-103 * Kastov 545 = AK-105 * Kastov 74U = AKS-74U * TAQ-56 = SCAR Mk 16 (SCAR-L)

BR corrections: * FTAC RECON is just any M4/M161 (AR-15 platform rifle) in .458 SOCOM. To say it is the AR-15 is wrong, as it is a platform, just as AK is a platform. * TAQ-V = SCAR Mk 17 (SCAR-H)

SMG corrections: * BAS-P = MPX (not UMP-45; not even close wtf) * Minibak = PP-19 Bizon * MX9 = AUG A3 Para * Vaznek-9K = Vityaz-SN (PP-19 Bizon variant; not a some hybrid). * VEL 46 = MP7A2

Sniper corrections: * Signal 50 = GM6 Lynx * SP-X 80 = M2010 ESR * LA-B 330 = TAC-300

MG corrections: * HCR 56 = AUG HBAR-T * RAAL MG = MG 338

Shotgun corrections: * Expedite 12 = M4 Super 90 * Lookwood 300 = Olympia 72

Pistol corrections: * P890 = M17 (P320 variant) * Basilisk = Model 500

DMR corrections: * Lockwood Mk2 = Marlin 336 * TAQ-M is a hybrid of SCAR Mk 17 Mod 1 (because of 6.5mm Creedmore) with a Mk 20 SSR upper receiver and butt stock.

One more thing. It's fine to call the FTAC recon the AR-15, because that's what it is. The actual rifle is just referred to in the military as the .458 SOCOM and doesn't really have a designation or fancy model number. The closest you might find is AR15-R, but it really is just a .458 AR-15. It's not an M4, it's not an M16. The CLOSEST rifle it comes to in terms of designations, I think, would be the Mk12 SDMR. But that is a 5.56mm.

You've made a few errors yourself, mate. The P890 is the P220, not the 320 (the 220 is hammerfired, the 320 is striker fired, the P890 in game has a hammer; the 320 also has a 17rd 9mm magazine), and the Lockwood 300 is the Browning Citori 725. Those are just two I noticed off the top of my head, there may be others, but those are the ones I noticed. I am glad you pegged the MPX, though. Not the first time I've seen someone make that mistake.

I will add, for the author, that the M24 SWS is the special sniper configuration of the Remington Model 700/780, and the SP-R 208 should probably be listed as the rifle the M24 is based on, the Model 700 or 708, depending on whom you ask. Having used both, the rifle in the game feels closer to the 708.

Some weapons can be kitted into other variants. RPK can be kitted into a AKMS for example, the M16A4 into an M4, the M4A1 into an M16A3, the AK-105 into an AK-74M et cetera.

Generally I'd stick to what the base weapon is.

Forgot to give examples. I know the Kastov have attachments that reflect the older models, making them more wooden in appearance, while other attachments make them look more metallic and carbon fibre. What are your thoughts on them? Are they reflections of the various AK models in world supply, or are they based on real-world modifications for specific weapons?

You know what, that's fairly well played. When doing the research, I figured some of these guns were designed to reflect real guns but try to be their own style for the game's weapon platform system and avoid replicas since there's a lack of licensed guns. Really good attention to detail on this, I appreciate your insight. I'll update it with your suggestions.
