It’s time to go to Estard, which is located northwest of Pilchard Bay. Exit to the world map and while there isn’t really anything to do or places to go, you can find a chest with a Medicinal Herb in the southwest corner of the current area of the map. For now, head to Estard and head inside the town to start with the looting of the place.
Note that Maribel will leave the party upon entering the town, so don’t worry about her right now. Head inside the inn, which is to your right as you enter the town and go upstairs. Inside the room with the old lady will be a Cypress Stick in the drawer. Find the weapon/item building and instead of going through the front door, head around back and use the back door instead. The two chests next to the owner are locked, so ignore them and climb the stairs.
There will be 2 gold coins in one of the barrels, as well as a Chimaera Wing in one of the cupboards. Although not mentioned before, this handy item will allow you to warp to any location you have previously visited, saving you from having to walk more than needed. Unfortunately, if you want to shop at the place, you’ll have to enter from the front. That’s all there is to loot in the town and if you look at the map on your touch screen, you should see some stairs near the church, but since you’ll be going there in a bit, ignore them and head into the castle.
Once Kiefer has a word with you at the entrance, go upstairs to find the king waiting for you. Upon finishing up with him, go back downstairs, head into the room with the blue carpeting to find another Chimaera Wing inside one of the drawers. While there are stairs in the northwest corner that lead to the castle walls and other stairs, they ultimately lead to nothing, as there are no items in the other areas. If you return to the bottom floor, you can enter the banquet hall and get to the kitchen, where there’s a Pilchard Pie in one of the blue vases. There’s also some stairs to the north of the kitchen, leading to a basement. Here, you can find a pair of Wrecked Specs and a Medicinal Herb in the breakables.
With all of that done, leave Estard and go to the house in the southwest corner of the map. Outside of the house, you will find 3 gold coins in one of the barrels, as well as some Rags inside of the cupboard inside. That’s not all, though, as there’s a Medicinal Herb in a barrel downstairs, a Seed of Magic in the chest, and 3 gold coins in another barrel. While you can go in the structure to the south, ignore it and head to the builing located on the eastern side of the map.
Note that you’ll have to go through the “passage” to get to that area. There’s nothing located in the woods, but you should see a hilly path near the entrance of the building; at the end of this path is a chest, containing a Chimaera Wing . Head into that structure now (it’s called the Shrine of Mysteries) to see Kiefer tinkering with some statue. Go up to talk with him, and he’ll hand over some book that he wants someone in Estard to look at.
Dermot the Hermit can be found by using those steps by the church in Estard and taking the only path down there (there’s 6 gold coins in a blue vase right by the stairs that was missed before). Once you arrive at Dermot’s house, you can find a Seed of Wisdom in one of the barrels outside, as well as a Chimaera Wing in the blue vase upstairs. Dermot, himself, will be in the basement, so give him the book and return to the castle. Find Kiefer’s bedroom, which is on the left side of the second floor.
Before he accompanies you again, he’ll return your uncle’s Sizzling Stone, which you can give back to him now or wait until later, when your uncle will take it back (Pike’s house is in the northeast corner of Estard). Anyway, return to Dermot with the prince in tow to learn the secret behind the statue at the ruins. As you get back to Estard proper, some guards will escort Kiefer back to the castle, while you end up returning home.
