Maybe they use Ink Blast, which deals 150% normal damage, because their normal attacks aren’t enough. You could say they’re a sucker for a strong attack.

Enemy Attacks

Tentacle Attack: The Blooper will go into the ground and appear in front of a target, before using its tentacles to attack them. Wait until all of the tentacles are pointing forward before timing your defense.

Ink Blast: The Blooper will shoot out a glob of Ink at a single target, wait until the ink is at medium-range before timing your defense.

Strategy

You will encounter groups of Bloopers during your time in the Sea, and while they go down in a few regular timed attacks, they can deal some nasty damage with their Ink Blast attack. The key to this is waiting for the ink to reach around medium-range before defending against it, otherwise expect to take around 10 HP of damage.
