“Tina,

I’ve been thinking about what you said. Your words were vicious, but I won’t return the favour. Instead I’m writing to beg for your compassion.

My poor Philip isn’t himself, it’s true, but he’s no danger to anyone. I know how the illness looks, but to call him a monster, to claim he attacked you - I won’t believe it. He’s been nothing but a loving husband to me. Don’t listen to the Protocol and their poison.

Please, don’t tell anyone about Philip. You know what they would do to him and the bakery!
