Home Plate Settlements

Background / History

Home Plate is a potential settlement located within Diamond City, available for purchase from Geneva in the mayor’s office for 2,000 caps. The previous owner expanded the residence by demolishing walls and integrating an adjacent warehouse, resulting in a larger living space compared to other accommodations in the city.

Layout

Home Plate features three entrances: a ground-level blue door to the left, a ground-level red door to the right, and a hatch leading to the roof. The interior comprises the original warehouse area with concrete floors and various scrap items. A living space near the red door includes a workshop and basic furnishings, leading to a staircase accessing a bed and dresser on the upper floor. The roof area is minimally furnished with seating and a doghouse.

Notes

• All stations are outside in the market area. Restricted building options. Can’t be added to a supply line.
• The workshop at Home Plate offers limited functionality, restricting the construction of structures and the planting of crops.
• Settlers and companions cannot be assigned to Home Plate, and it does not appear in the Pip-Boy’s workshop list.
• No supply lines can be established with other settlements, and the property comes with pre-installed lighting.
• Taking items from the mailbox outside the red door is considered stealing even after purchasing the property.
• Home Plate provides a new fast travel point upon purchase, located near the blue door.
• If Mayor McDonough is killed during the quest “In Sheep’s Clothing” before purchasing Home Plate, access to the property may become inaccessible.

Bugs

• Sometimes, after fast traveling to Home Plate, the map marker may incorrectly display the player character’s location as Ticonderoga.
• If the bed in Home Plate is scrapped, it may become impossible to receive the Well Rested perk in this location. This issue can be resolved on PC by using console commands to spawn a new bed or assign ownership to the existing one. On consoles, reloading a previous save may be necessary.
