There are a total of 36 New Weapons at the launch of Modern Warfare 3 and they are split into different categories, Assault Rifles, Battle Rifles, Shotguns, Handguns, Snipers, LMGs, and more. Best Assault Rifle in MW3¶
MCW is the best Assasult Rifle.
There are six new Assault Rifles to choose from in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, SVA 545, MTZ 556, Holger 556, DG-50 and FR.5.56. You can’t go wrong with most of them, but the best of the bunch is by far the MCW which becomes available at Level 44. Without any attachments it has excellent handling, Recoil Control and fast fire rate which makes it a good choice for gunfights at all ranges.
Best Battle Rifle in MW3¶
BAS B is the best Battle Rifle.
There are only three new Battle Rifles to choose from in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, Bas-B, Sidewinder and MTZ-762. The community has mostly agreed the Bas-B is the best out of the small selection due to its high damage and accuracy. If you put on the correct attachments to reduce recoil, then this weapon is perfect for someone who wants to sit back and hold a lane.
Best Sub-Machine Gun in MW3¶
Striker is the best Sub-Machine Gun.
There are six new Sub-Machine Guns to choose from in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following: Striker-45, WSP Swarm, AMR9, WSP-9, Rival-9, and Striker-9. You’ve got quite a few good options here, but the Striker is considered the best option because of its incredibly high fire rate and low recoil which makes it a viable option to shred enemies’ health in seconds at both short to medium range.
Best Shotgun in MW3¶
Lockwood is the best Shotgun.
There are only three new Shotguns available in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, Lockwood 680, Haymayker, and Riverter. Unfortunately, Shotguns aren’t as strong as they used to be, but they are still useful as secondary weapons as you can easily finish off an enemy if you run out of ammo with your Primary. As for the best Shotgun to level you’ll want to go with the Lockwood 300 which was carried over from MW2, as it offers incredible damage at long range.
Best Light Machine Gun in MW3¶
Pulemyot 762 is the best Light Machine Gun.
There are four new Light Machine Guns in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, Pulemyot 762, DG-58 LSW, Holgar 26, and Bruen MK9. These weapons have large magazines but they are very heavy, so it’s a weapon for those who prefer to stick to an area of the map and defend a location because running and gunning won’t be an option with it. Everyone agrees the Pulemyot is the one to go for, as it has good range, low recoil, and high fire rate which can compete with some Assault Rifles.
Best Sniper Rifle in MW3¶
The FJX Imperium is the best Sniper Rifle.
There are three new Sniper Rifles in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, KATT-AMR, Longbow and KV Inhibitor. However, the go-to sniper in the scene right now is still the FJX Imperium which was another weapon carried over from MW2. This is a popular choice because it has amazing damage, range and handling which makes it viable for both quickscoping and long-range gun-fights.
Best Marksman Rifle in MW3¶
MTZ Interceptor is the best Battle Rifle.
There are four new Marksman Rifles in Modern Warfare 3 and they are the following, KVD Enforcer, MCW 6.8, DM56 and MTZ Interceptor. Marksman Rifles are a mix of single-shot and burst weapons so they are designed to be used between close to medium range. Here you’ll want to go with the MTZ Interceptor as the Handling, Damage and Range come well-balanced without any attachments.
